Here is my second in a series of illustrations.I have decided I would like to master the art of paper cutting, so technically it's still unfinished. My first attempt was not successful, however I shall be returning with a finished paper beauty very soon! 

Paper cutting is a stunning but tricky way to show art.

From Iceland with Love...

I recently visited Iceland’s capital Reykjavik, and instantly fell in love with the café culture. The days are short, dark, and cold... and so a fascinating indoor culture has evolved. Iceland’s café culture is wholly unique and inimitable; books line the walls, and stacks of board games, and bric-a-brac form the basis for the internal atmospherics.

Iceland is a beautiful island with an enchanting nature. The people believe in hidden dwarfs, Giants, tales of witchcraft, and elves… They also have 13 Santa Clauses!!!

Sadly, we didn’t get to see the Northern Lights, we did however get to admire the coloured houses. Iceland is not a dull place… you only need to look at the houses to realize that. Who wouldn’t want to live in a coloured house?!

The Fragile Dream of the Spring Iris at Dawn...

Nestled in my home is my workspace, the heart of Alice. Here I can steal hours where I can find them, home is becoming a continuous place of work.  I love that it’s a space all to myself, but that I can go to the next room for feedback/input/conversation from my loved ones.

In recent weeks I have been sourcing lots of delicate fabrics. Alice is all about soft colours, delicate textures, and the feeling that time and trouble has been taken to create something special.

Every day we learn something new. Isn't it time to learn something old?

My Nan was a jack-of-all-trades when it came to home making, and in the summer of 2010 her beautiful Jones sewing machine arrived in my home. Personally, I still prefer the antique sewing machine in terms of its look and mechanical intricacies.  It would be a pity to see such a classic piece of history go to waste, and so I’ll have this beauty up and running in no time!

This Blog does not present a finished Label, I am merely introducing you to ‘my hearts reflection', it is here that you can follow my passion and watch me build something not alike in character or quality to any other. I am presenting my ideas and thoughts through the clothing I construct, media and design.

Alice can be described as charismatic, she is a free spirit, wakes up to see the sunshine, stays up to see a falling star, she is the reason behind the creation.
